    Fiber pigtail is a piece of fiber optic cable with only one fiber optic connector on one side of the cable, there are single mode and multimode fiber optic pigtails, which can be with various types of fiber optic terminations such as SC, FC, ST, LC, MU, MT-RJ, MTP, MPO, etc.

  • Fiber Optic Adapter
    Fiber optic adapters are used to link fiber patch cables or fiber optic connectors. We supply various kinds of fiber optic adapters; types including single mode and multimode, LC, SC, ST, MU, FC, MTRJ, E2000, SMA, etc. these fiber optic adapters are reliable performance and good prices.

    Because the fiber adapters should fit the according connectors, the fiber optic adaptors sides and shape are made as per the connectors. Generally, ST adapter and FC adapter are metal body, LC, SC, MU, MTRJ, E2000 types are non-metal body. Single mode fiber optic adapters are with ceramic sleeves, multimode fiber optic adapters are bronze sleeves. But you can also use ceramic sleeve fiber optic adapters to link multimode connectors.

    The fiber optic adapters are many types because of the diversity of the connectors. There are female to female fiber adapters, and there are female to male type fiber adapters. If the fiber optic adapter is going to fit two different kinds of fiber connector, it is called hybrid fiber optic adapters, such as LC to SC hybrid adapter. Fiber optic adapters are simplex and duplex types.
    FC fiber optic adapter
    There are three kinds of FC fiber optic adaptors, square type, single D type and double D type, all FC fiber optic adaptors are with metal housing, single mode FC Fiber optic adaptors are with zirconia sleeves, multi mode FC fiber optic adaptors are with bronze sleeves. All FC fiber optic adaptors are simplex.

    SC fiber optic adapter
    SC fiber optic adaptors are all with plastic housing, there are different colors: blue for single mode PC, green for single mode APC and beige for multimode PC. All SC fiber optic adaptors are flange type, single mode adaptors are with zirconia sleeve while multimode fiber adaptors are with bronze sleeve. SC fiber optic adaptors are available with both simplex adaptors and duplex adaptors.

    ST fiber optic adapter
    ST fiber optic adaptors are all threaded type, with metal housing, single mode ones are with zirconia sleeve and multimode ones are with bronze sleeve. ST fiber optic adaptors are simplex adaptors.

    LC fiber optic adapter
    LC fiber optic adaptors are all plastic housing; there are simplex LC adaptors
    and duplex LC adaptors, usually duplex LC fiber adaptors are with SC footprint. The LC fiber adaptors colors are same as SC fiber optic adaptors: blue for single mode PC, beige for multi mode PC and green for single mode APC. LC fiber optic adaptors are with bronze sleeve for multimode and zirconia sleeve for single mode.

    MT-RJ fiber optic adapter
    MT-RJ fiber optic adaptors are with polymer housing, there are two types available, one is flange type; another is SC footprint type, both simplex. MT-RJ fiber optic adaptors are black color.
    MU fiber optic adapter
    MU fiber optic adaptors are available with both single mode and multi mode, they are patch panel mount type fiber optic adaptors.
    MPO fiber optic adapter
    MPO fiber optic adaptors are flange type adaptors with plastic housing, both single mode and multimode ones available.
    E2000 fiber optic adapter

  • Fiber Optic Connector
    Fiber Optic Connector is an important components used in the fiber optic network. It is also the key part used in fiber optic patch cord and fiber optic pigtail.     There are Single mode fiber optic connector and Multimode fiber optic connector, Single mode fiber optic connectors can be with PC, or UPC or APC polish, while Multimode fiber optic connectors only with PC or UPC polish. PC or UPC or APC refer to how we polish the ferrule of the fiber optic connectors. Judging from the out looking, Multimode connectors are usually with black boot or beige color, Single mode PC and UPC ones are usually with blue or black color, Single mode APC is with green color.     E2000 fiber optic connector
    E2000 fiber optic connector is one of the newly develped types, which features a spring-loaded shutter used to protect the ferrule from dust and scratches. E2000 fiber connectors is similar size of SC fiber connectors.there are single mode E2000 fiber optic connectors and Multimode E2000 fiber optic connectors. UPC,APC polish types.

    SC fiber optic connector

    SC fiber optic connector is with push-pull structure; it is one of the earliest and most commonly used types. With the plastic housing, the SC fiber optic connector is low cost. But it is also with good accuracy; SC fiber optic connector is widely used in mass installations.

    FC fiber optic connector
    Same as SC fiber connector, FC is also invention of NTT Company from Japan. FC is with metal housing, screw structure, as the same products developed by one company, FC fiber optic connector ferrule and sleeves used in FC fiber optic adaptor are both same as SC ones.

    ST fiber optic connector

    ST fiber optic connector is also a metal structure, unlike FC fiber optic connector; ST is a push-pull type, not screw type as FC. ST are usually used in 10Base-F while SC usually used in 100Base F, ferrule of ST fiber optic connector is exposed outside, SC fiber optic connector ferrule is designed to be inside of the housing.

    LC fiber optic connector
    LC is the short form for the company name Lucent, LC fiber optic structure is similar like the RJ ones, and it is push and pull. Size of ferrules and sleeves used in LC fiber connector and LC fiber adaptor is half of SC and FC, it is 1.25mm. LC is widely used in single mode fiber network, and it is more and more used in multimode network as well.

    MT-RJ fiber optic connector
    MT-RJ was developed based on NTT's MT connector, and with the RJ-45 style structure, so it got the name MT-RJ. MTRJ connector is with duplex fiber channel inside one single connector, the space between the two channels is 0.75mm. MT-RJ is widely used for data transmission.

    MU fiber optic connector

    MU is short form of Miniature unit Coupling, it was developed by NTT based on SC fiber optic connector, MU is by now the smallest single ferrule fiber optic connector in the world, so it is good choice for densely installation. NTT has developed a series of MU products. As the fiber optic network bandwidth goes bigger and with wide use of DWDM, demand of MU fiber optic products is also increasing. All above fiber optic connectors are with ceramic ferrules with various sizes, except for MT-RJ ones. MT-RJ is with plastic ferrule.

    SMA fiber optic connector

  • Fiber Optic Attenuator

  • Mode Conditioning Cable

     Mode conditioning cable are designed for Gigabit Ethernet multimode applications at 1300nm wavelength; the application standard is IEEE 802.3z. All mode conditioning fiber optic patch cords are made with duplex cable; with a single mode to multimode offset fiber connection part in one of the two legs
    Here is the reason we need to use the mode conditioning patch cord : the Gigabit Ethernet application standard requires the use of fiber optic light to achieve the specified data transmitting rates. Usually people use long wave transceiver modules for Gigabit Ethernet, these modules have to operate both single mode and multi mode fibers. And as we know, multimode fiber manufacturing techniques create index of refraction anomalies along the centerline of the multi mode fiber core. When a highly concentrated single mode fiber optic light is sent into the center of a multimode fiberglass, the modes that propagate through the index of refraction anomalies spread out in time causing modal dispersion, this effect is called differential mode delay. Differential mode delay results in reduced bandwidth over distance. By allowing the single mode laser launch to be offset away from the center of the multi mode fiber the mode conditioning patch cord reduces the effect of such differential mode delay.

    From the above descriptions we learn how to use such mode conditioning cables: when we use such mode conditioning fiber optic patch cords, we need to connect the yellow leg which is the color of single mode to connect the transmit side of the equipment (single mode Gigabit transceiver) while we connect the orange leg which is the color of multimode to the receive side.   • Indoor Fiber Optic Cable
    With the fast development of fiber optic communication technology and the trend of FTTX, indoor fiber optic cables are more and more required to be installed between and inside buildings. Typical indoor fiber optic cable types include GJFJV, GJFJZY, GJFJBV, GJFJBZY, GJFDBV and GJFDBZY. Compared with outdoor use fiber cable, indoor fiber optic cable experience less temperature and mechanical stress, but they have to be fire retardant, emit a low level of smoke in case of burning. And indoor fiber cables allow a small bend radius to make them be amendable to vertical installation and handle easily.

    Most indoor fiber optic cables are tight buffer design, usually they consist of the following components inside the cable, the FRP which is non-metallic strengthen member, the tight buffer optical fiber, the Kevlar which is used to further strength the cable structure, making it resist high tension, and the cable outer jacket. The trend is to use LSZH or other RoHS compliant PVC materials to make the cable jacket; this will help protect the environment and the health of the end users. Usually the single mode indoor fiber optic cables are installed between the buildings where the distance is more than 100 meters, while multimode indoor fiber optic cables are used shorter distance connections.   • Outdoor Fiber Optic Cable
    Outdoor fiber optic cables are made to protect the optical fiber to operate safely in complicated outdoor environment. Most outdoor fiber cables are loose buffer design, with the strengthen member in the middle of the whole cable, the loose tubes surround the central strength member.     Fiber media converter is equipment, which receives data signals, sent via one media, convert the signals and then transmit the signals into another kind of media. Fiber optic media converters can convert the signals sent from copper cable to signals that run on the fiber cable, they are copper to fiber or fiber-to-fiber conversion devices. There are single mode converter and multi mode converters, for single mode converter, there are dual fiber type and single fiber type which the fiber cable functions both as transmitting media and receiving media, while for multi mode converter, there are only dual fiber types. Single fiber media converters are also called WDM fiber optic converters.

    Working distance of the fiber optic converters are different .for typical multimode fiber optic converters, their working distance max is about 2km, for single mode fiber media converters, their working distance can be 20km, 40km, 60km, 80km and up to 120km.

    Stand alone fiber optic converter is a small device with the fiber optic interface and copper cable interface and the power supply adaptor, for the fiber optic interface, SC type is the most commonly used, but there are also FC and ST types. For the Ethernet interface, it is usually one or several UTP cable ports. There are also chassis type fiber optic converters, typical type is a 19-inch rack-mounted chassis, with 16 slots on it, so that it can fit 16 pieces of chassis type fiber optic media converters. For chassis type fiber media converters, they share the same power supply. They function as plug and play and thus is easy to manage. There are also 14 Slot Media Converter Chassis, Its feature and application is similar as 16 slot chassis media converter, the difference is 14 slot chassis is used with stand alone media converters, while 16 slot chassis is used with card type media converters, and 16 slot chassis is bigger size.

    Single mode to Multi mode Fiber Optic Media Converter
    These Converters are simple and reliable devices for connecting multimode fiber traffic to single mode fiber devices and links.     Wall Outlet Fiber Optic Converter
    This converter is a 10/100base TX to 100base FX converter designed for installation in standard cable ducts. This unit fits easily into existing socket base plates throughout the cable trucking. The unique and compact design enables the unit to fit into standard double size cable duct frames. This converter is with two RJ-45 ports on the front size and one SC fiber optic port on the reverse side. Each of the RJ45 port supports 10Mbps or 100Mbps and auto speed negotiation is also featured. The fiber connection on the reverse side of the converter complies with 100Base FX standards. Fiber cabling terminates inside the cable duct when a connection is made to the converter. This converter is designed for fiber optic desktop applications.
    Plastic Fiber Optic Media Converter
    POF converters are for fast Ethernet on plastic optical fibers. These fiber converters are available for simplex and duplex POF cables and from converters for operating wavelengths 650nm and 460nm.

    Remarks of GBIC modules:
    When install the GBIC modules, please note at the alignment groove at the side of the transceiver, and make sure it fit for the Ethernet interface slot and try the insertion, sometimes you may need to turn it 180 degree to fit for the interface.
